Chapter 1 (Irina & Mikael Love story)

The release of the book I've been waiting for

Hi, My name is Irina, Irina Devereaux, I'm 20 years old and as far back as I can remember, I've always loved reading. I especially like to read at night or else, I like to lean under a tree during the day in order to lose myself in this magical and imaginative world. I live with my mother Miranda in a small, remote town in Virginia. As for my father Éric, I didn't know him, he left the day I was born, and he never came back. I never believed in true love, and I don't think I will ever find it. All I know is that love destroys and hurts, I saw that with mom when Eric left her. It was destroyed, and I don't want to go through that too. I am quite alone in my corner, without a lover and without love.

Sorry if this may seem harsh and excessive for some, but this is my perception of this feeling.

Today is April 6, which means that volume 3 of sweet trilogy is out, I've been waiting for this book to arrive for so long. I have already read the first two volumes and not just once, I love the story of Anna White, daughter of Belial, a young girl half angel and half demon who falls in love with the famous singer Kaiden Rowe son of Pharzuph, the Duke of Lust. Kai is half human and half demon. Each nephilim is born of a human and a Duke. But in a few rare times, they are born to an angel and a duke, which is the case with Anna. Mothers die giving birth to children, which is very sad. The latter must therefore work to accomplish their father's fishing. According to the end of volume two, the finale promises to be epic. Anyway, all this is just to give you a little preview of the story without spoilers, to give those who have not yet read the chance to discover the story.

I usually go to the library to borrow the books I want to read, but for this one I want to buy it. I don't really know why, probably because one, the other two volumes I received as a gift from my best friend Mika, so the third will complete the saga in my library and two, it's been a long time since I did not spend on a book that is really worth it.

With that, my mother's voice snaps me out of my thoughts

Miranda: IRINA, DARLING, DINNER IS READY

Irina: TWO SECOND MOM, I'M COMING

At the table

Miranda: So what's up, sweetie?

Irina: Other than Sweet's 3rd book arrived, and I'm going to buy it after dinner, nothing special. And you ?

Miranda: I got a huge promotion at work and hopefully by the end of the year I'll be sous chef

Irina: but mom, it's great, I'm very happy for you.

Mom is a journalist. Her job is to research and verify information. She writes them to transmit them on any type of medium. She is therefore above all an editor and a specialist in writing. However, she must also testify, film, interview, record, photograph, edit images and lay out. In addition, at home, mom also writes stories on wattpad in her free time. Precisely, she has just finished her 16th writing entitled The adventurer of the ocean, basically, it is the story of a young mermaid named Luna Pearl, princess and heiress of the 7 marine kingdoms. One day, she meets a young adventurer named Evan Anderson, whom she will save from certain drowning. Gradually, they will begin to develop more than just friendship between them. Luna's father doesn't believe in love and doesn't want his daughter to find out. For him, this feeling is only destruction and pain. But Evan will prove to the latter that he is wrong to think so. Anyway, I love my mother's way of writing and this story is one of my top favorites. My mother's voice brings me out of my thoughts a second time.

Miranda: Honey, what's up besides reading?

Irina: I'm not sure, I understand where you're going with this, mom.

Miranda: I mean, would there be someone in your life, I don't know, a boy that you might like?

I was almost choking on my food

Irina: No, there is nobody. Mom, you already know what I think of this feeling, I... I don't want to suffer

Miranda taking both my hands in hers: Honey, just because it went badly for me doesn't necessarily mean it will for you too. Who knows what life has in store for you, you will surely find your prince charming. You know, love can be wonderful, you just have to find the right person.

Irina: Yeah okay, I'm not so sure

Miranda: All I'm saying, sweetheart, is that you're at least trying to give love a chance to prove itself.

With that, we finish our plates in silence. Once I'm done, I go to my room to change to go out.

I opt for a burgundy crop top sweater, jeans with holes in the knee, black suede ankle boots and I add a leather jacket to that in case it gets chilly outside.

I then go to my chest of drawers to put on light makeup and do my hair in a rather loose braid on the side.

Once that's over, I take my keys and head for the door to get out of the house, taking care to tell my mother first.

Irina: MOM, I'M GOING OUT

Miranda: OK DARLING, PLEASE BE CAREFUL

Irina: YES MOM, AS ALWAYS, DON'T WORRY. I LOVE YOU

A gentle and chilly wind at the same time rubs my face, and the red and yellow leaves crunch under my feet. When I was younger, I purposely jumped on the dead leaves just to hear their cracking. For me, this noise has a certain appeasement, it relaxes me.

Fall is by far my favorite season.
